![]() ![]() I am pleased to offer an intimate size print of my image, Corn Lily and Grasses, Near Aspen, Colorado, at the greatly reduced price of $325. This silver gelatin, selenium toned, print is approximately 5x7" in size, personally printed by me (as are all my prints), processed to current archival standards, signed, and mounted on 14x17" 2-ply museum board with an embossed stamp in the lower right corner. Please note that this print is mounted, but NOT overmatted. I made the image Corn Lily and Grasses early one chilly September morning following the conclusion of one of my many Anderson Ranch Art Center two-week long workshops in Snowmass, Colorado. Though we were exhausted from the intense and exciting workshop experience, Anne and I were up before first light, hiking into a favorite location of ours that we try to visit every time we are in that area. I have enjoyed photographing corn lilies since I first became involved in photography. Usually I photograph them in the early summer, when their luminous leaves are a subtle green. This particular corn lily plant had finished its growing stage, and fallen over a few weeks before. I found a quiet grace in the gesture of the plant nestled in the grasses. I used a red filter to separate the yellow-orange color of the dried corn lily leaves from the green of the surrounding grasses. I enjoy the elegant simplicity of this image. This photograph is also reproduced as Plate 48 in my book Recollections: Three Decades of Photographs. The prints will be carefully prepared and packaged in rugged protective envelopes, and shipped fully insured. Normally there is a long waiting period for John's original prints. This is a rare opportunity to obtain a print with quick delivery , and at a very reasonable price. |
